The National Police have arrested a man and a woman in Manacor for the repeated abuse of the woman's daughter.
The girl went to school on Friday and then went to the police station to report that she was being abused by her mother and stepfather.
She described episodes of physical violence and showed an officer from the National Police's family unit the bruises she had sustained from beatings she had received days earlier. She stated that the assaults were continual and explained that she had only told some close friends and certain relatives what was happening. They convinced her to report the situation.
The mother and stepfather went to the National Police station in Manacor to report that their daughter had not returned home after school on Friday. Officers arrested them as suspected perpetrators of abuse, and a duty judge issued a restraining order against both of them. The girl has been placed in a social services care centre.
