In the third quarter of 2025 the eviction rate for tenants was higher in the Balearics than in any other Spanish region.

Figures from the General Council of the Judiciary show there were 210 evictions between July and September. However, there were 679 eviction orders, meaning that less than a third were carried out. Court delays and declarations of vulnerability were the main reasons.

The eviction rate was 14.2 tenants per 100,000 inhabitants. While this was the highest in Spain, both the number of eviction orders and the number of evictions carried out fell by comparison with the same quarter of 2024. Respectively, these were down by nineteen and nine per cent.

The number of evictions made was in fact one of the lowest in the Council's quarterly records. On only three occasions has there been a lower number.

Of other evictions, there were nine for squatting, the Balearics being the region with the highest number of people resorting to the special civil procedure to evict squatters.
