A British holidaymaker staying at a hotel in Santa Ponsa in July 2024 is facing a potential six-year prison sentence after allegedly injuring two other British guests. The incident reportedly began with an argument about how loud their wireless speaker was. During the altercation, he is said to have repeatedly struck one man on the head and bitten another on the ear. Prosecutors are seeking more than €7,000 in compensation for the two victims.

According to the account provided by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the confrontation occurred at around 1.40 am on July 15 in a hotel situated on Puig des Teix. The two men who were later assaulted had stepped out of their room and were playing music, which apparently annoyed the accused. He took issue with the noise, leading to a heated exchange.

What started as a dispute about volume quickly escalated. The suspect allegedly hit one of the men several times on the head, causing significant injury, and then bit the other man’s ear. Both required medical attention, with one victim reportedly needing ten stitches to close a deep cut on his forehead.

The Prosecutor’s Office is requesting that the accused compensate the men with €6,814.35 for the more seriously injured victim and €370.60 for the other. These amounts relate to the physical harm and associated recovery costs resulting from the confrontation.

The incident concluded with officers from the Calvia Civil Guard arresting the alleged attacker. The case is now progressing through the judicial system, with the accused facing serious charges that could result in several years behind bars.
