A British tourist has been detained by police after failing to settle his 19,000 euro hotel bill after spending almost 50 days in the luxury Calvia hotel. He allegedly left without informing hotel reception leaving a massive bill.
He was detained by police when he attempted to check-in to another hotel but of the same company in Palma.
Palma hotel staff noticed that he had an enormous outstanding bill at the Calvia hotel and informed police when they were processing his documents.
Police officers went to the scene and found the man sitting in the hotel lobby. He was taken into custody for questioning.
Palma police have not released any further details of the man only that he was holding a British passport and stayed for a month and a half at a Calvia hotel without paying.
