An 83-year-old cyclist died on Saturday morning after being hit by a Renault Kangoo in Selva.
The accident occurred around 9.30am at the Biniamar intersection on the Inca-Mancor de la Vall road. Medics went to the scene and pronounced the man dead at 10.20am. The driver of the Kangoo tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
It would appear that the cyclist failed to come to a halt at a stop sign and was knocked down by the van. The Guardia Civil are investigating the circumstances.
