A vehicle has completely overturned in Capdepera due to the powerful storms that have been battering the northeast of Mallorca throughout the morning. The area has experienced wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour, creating hazardous conditions for motorists and residents alike.
The incident occurred as the car was travelling along one of the main roads leading into the town when, at a certain point, the powerful gusts caused it to flip over and come to rest on its bonnet. Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
Capdepera has been one of the areas most severely affected by today's adverse weather conditions. Significant hailstorms have been recorded across the region, prompting Spain's meteorological agency AEMET to issue a yellow weather warning. This alert will be upgraded to orange for the north and northeast areas from 6pm this evening, indicating an increased risk of severe weather phenomena.
Local authorities are advising residents to exercise extreme caution when travelling and to avoid unnecessary journeys until weather conditions improve. Emergency services remain on high alert throughout the affected regions of the Balearics.
