A total of 31,742 migrants have arrived in Spain irregularly in 2025, which is 41.5% fewer than the arrivals recorded up to 15 November in 2024. Meanwhile, this year there has been a 41.7% increase in arrivals in the Balearics. This is according to the report on irregular immigration published on Tuesday by the Ministry of the Interior and reported by Europa Press.
It reveals that 31,742 migrants have arrived in Spain irregularly by sea and land so far in 2025, which is 41.5% fewer than in the same period in 2024, when 54,216 arrived. It shows that, from 1 January to 15 November, 28,362 migrants arrived by sea, 45.3% fewer than in the same period last year, when there were 51,849 arrivals. This year, they arrived in 1,122 boats, 417 fewer than last year.
It also points out that 13,642 migrants have arrived by sea to the mainland (6,929) and the Balearics (6,683), which is 12.9% more than in the same period in 2024, when 12,087 arrived. In this case, they arrived in 875 boats, 62 fewer than last year. As for migrants who arrived on the mainland by sea, there were 411 fewer than those who entered irregularly up to 15 November last year, representing a decrease of 5.5%. They arrived on 510 boats, 145 fewer than in 2024.
Meanwhile, 1,966 more migrants have arrived in the Balearics than in the same period in 2024, which is 41.7% more. They arrived on board 365 boats, 83 more than in 2024. As for the Canary Islands, 14,690 migrants have entered the islands this year, 63% fewer than those who arrived in the same period in 2024 (39,713). This year, they have arrived on board 236 boats, 59.8% fewer than in 2024, with 587.
As for Ceuta and Melilla, a total of 3,380 people have entered the autonomous cities irregularly by land this year, 42.8% more than in the same period last year. 3,101 migrants arrived in the former, 820 more than last year, while 279 arrived in the latter, 193 more than in 2024. Finally, five migrants arrived irregularly by sea in Ceuta, compared to 28 last year (82.1% less), and 25 in Melilla, compared to 21 in the same period in 2024 (19% more).
