Forbes Spain will hold a summit in Palma on 26 November that will gather business and institutional leaders, both national and international, to analyse how regenerative tourism can become an economic driver and competitive advantage for the Mediterranean region.

According to information released by the organisers on Monday, the event, titled 'Forbes Illes Balears Tourism Summit', will also explore the Balearics' role as a pioneering territory developing its own model of regenerative prosperity based on innovation, sustainability and territorial cohesion.

The aim of the conference is "to contribute to and offer, to the effort already being made and led by the islands, a space for dialogue and international projection that connects talent, businesses and Balearic institutions with the global conversation on tourism, sustainability and competitiveness," explained Bárbara Manrique, editorial director of the event.

High-profile participants from across sectors

The summit's agenda features a combination of high-level institutional and business representatives, including officials from the Balearic Government, the European Commission, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Forética, alongside companies committed to the sustainable future of the islands. Distinguished organisations and personalities representing the Balearics' cultural and social identity will also be present.

European and international tourism perspectives

European Commissioner for Sustainable Mobility and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, is scheduled to address the conference via video, while the Executive Director of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Natalia Bayona, will close the meeting alongside the President of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens.

Both leaders will engage in a final conversation about the Balearics as a European model of regenerative prosperity, addressing the challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism from a global and European perspective. This discussion will provide the final touch to an event that aims to project an international vision of the future of tourism from Mallorca.
