On Monday, the Palma 365 Tourism Foundation plan for 2026 was outlined. It will give "special attention to the Canadian and Abu Dhabi markets, coinciding with the opening of new direct air routes". This will consolidate Palma's long-haul connectivity with new international tourism source markets.

In September, Air Canada announced the launch of a new route between Montreal and Palma. It is scheduled to begin on June 17, 2026 and will be the among the first routes to be served by the airline's extra long-range Airbus A321XLR.

Flights from Montreal will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. From Palma they will be at 12.15pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The service will operate until late October.

Etihad will be operating three flights a week from mid-June to mid-September. The first from Abu Dhabi will be on June 12. The flights from Palma will depart at 10.30am. The route is to be served by a new Airbus A321LR.

The 365 Foundation's plan for 2026 also includes investment in Playa de Palma, actions to boost the mid and low seasons and to integrate tourism activity with residents.

The Afedeco and Pimeco retailers' associations are to join the foundation as collaborating entities, as are the Aviba association of travel agencies and Essentially Mallorca, the association with over seventy member companies specialising in luxury tourism.

Commenting in September on the Montreal and Abu Dhabi flights, Essentially Mallorca said it had been working hard to open these new markets over the past two years. "Mallorca will reinforce its position as a top-tier international destination, attracting travellers from expanding markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East, while consolidating its presence in strategic markets like Canada, the United States and Latin America."
