On Thursday morning, a Spanish Air Force F-18 Hornet flew low over Palma, the pilot performing various manoeuvres.
This was part of the preparations for the 75th anniversary of the Son Sant Joan Air Base, which will be celebrated on Saturday. Activities will be open to the public, and there is to be an F-18 air show from 11.50am. along with other demonstrations of Air Force and Space assets.
The F-18 Hornet, a fighter jet capable of exceeding 1,800 km/h, is one of the air force's main combat aircraft. It is used in air defence, reconnaissance, and close air support missions, and is known for its agility and manoeuvrability.
