The Afedeco and Pimeco associations for small retailers say they are behind the organisation of the Christmas market that will be held in Palma's Sa Feixina park.

The German businessman, Gerald Kendlbacher, who stallholders at the town hall-organised Christmas market said was the driving force, is working with the associations on the staging of market. This will be a "Nordic-inspired market" in the style of the Christmas market in Puerto Portals, and most of the products on sale will be local and Christmas-themed. The associations add the market is an initiative that is part of the 'Palma, a whole centre of fun 2025-2026' campaign. This aims to make Palma one of the Christmas attractions in southern Europe.

Joana Manresa, president of Afedeco, says: "We want to extend the shopping season." To this end there will also be 38 attractions in various squares in Palma and three Christmas trains, two in Plaça de la Reina and one on Avda. Antoni Maura. "More than 200 jobs will be created during the Christmas holidays."

Carolina Domingo of Pimeco explains that they are seeking to bring shoppers from across the island into the centre of Palma. "We don't want them to go to shopping malls. Moreover, we want it to become a Christmas shopping destination."

The stalls in Sa Feixina will have "a more modern and refined aesthetic and will help create a unique Christmas atmosphere, with more charm and convenience for visitors and exhibitors".
