A 48-year-old woman was rushed to Inca Hospital on Friday morning after being slashed across the throat by her partner.
The incident occurred around 8am at a property on Calle Acacias in Puerto Alcudia. There was an argument between the couple, both from the Dominican Republic, which led to the attack with a knife. The man was arrested by Alcudia Police and then handed over to the Guardia Civil, who are in charge of the investigation.
Calle Acacias is a quiet street off the main Carretera Arta and is said to be one where people tend to live temporarily, although it is suggested that the couple have lived in Alcudia for some years.
The woman is reported to be in a stable condition but may need to be transferred to Son Espases Hospital in Palma.
