Son Amar, the iconic Mallorcan complex, has announced that it will remain open to the public, with a renewed focus on hosting social and corporate events. This line of activity, already present in its previous operations, is now positioned as the cornerstone of its business model, allowing the company to operate independently without the financial backing previously provided by Margaret Whittaker.
The venue boasts an auditorium with a capacity of up to one thousand attendees as its main space, alongside multifunctional rooms, terraces, and outdoor areas surrounded by nature and mountain views, providing state-of-the-art facilities for a wide range of events.
The continuity of Son Amar is being led by Dominic Miles, son of Margaret Whittaker—who acquired the company in the early 2000s and gradually assumed management—together with Paul Abrey, a long-term friend of the Whittaker family.
Miles, who has experience in hospitality and nightlife-related businesses, is currently part of the family business group’s management while also overseeing his own companies operating in Spain, the United Kingdom, and Poland, mainly within the automotive sector. He is joined by Abrey, a senior executive at a renowned audiovisual production company in Mallorca, whose strong business acumen and extensive corporate experience contribute significant strategic and operational support to Son Amar’s transformation.
In recent months, following a redundancy plan that affected the majority of the company’s employees during early 2025, a restructuring process has been implemented to adapt the business to its new model, strengthening its long-term viability and consolidating Son Amar’s position as a benchmark venue in Mallorca.
