The Prosecutor's Office is seeking three years in prison and a €600 fine for the two owners of a boat charter company, accused of assaulting and robbing a competitor in Santa Ponsa in the summer of 2022.
The case relates to events on July 8, 2022. At around 7.40pm and close to a well-known restaurant, the defendants are said to have punched the other man several times in the chest and to have then stolen his backpack. This contained the man's phone and €250 in cash.
There had apparently been an argument some time earlier. The man who was attacked had taken a group of tourists on an excursion that had previously been arranged with the defendants.
The Guardia Civil investigated and charged the two with robbery with violence and causing minor injuries.
In addition to the prison sentence, the defendants face a fine of €150 for the injuries caused; they will also have to return the money that was stolen. The case will soon be heard by a court in Palma.
