Sorry U.S. super aircraft carrier, size does matter and you are not the biggest in the port of Palma today!

A Maltese registered cruise ship is the biggest

A giant in the port of Palma

She maybe the world's biggest and most powerful aircraft carrier but in the Port of Palma she is second best today. The Gerald R Ford weighs in at 100,000 tons but the cruise-ship MSC Seaview, is slightly larger at 150,000 tons. The carrier is in the Bay of Palma while the super-liner is moored at the Dique del Oeste dock.

The super carrier is marginally longer...323 metres compared to the carrier's 337 metres but the MSC Seaview can carry up to 7,000 passengers and crew compared to 4,500 on the Gerald R. Ford. Naturally the carrier wins hands down when it comes to armament and of course it carries up to 80 aircraft including the fifth generation F35 fighter.

MSC Seaview has 18 decks and a length of 323 metres (1,060 ft), a draft of 8.55 metres (28.1 ft), a depth of 12.1 metres (40 ft), and a beam of 41 metres (135 ft).

The total passenger capacity is 5,119 across 2,066 passenger cabins, with a crew complement of 1,413 across 759 crew cabins, making for a maximum capacity of 6,592 persons.

The carrier is nuclear powered so she doesn't have to refuel and she cost far more to build than the cruise ship.
