The Palma City Council has taken part in the ‘Spain Talks USA’ event organised by Turespaña in Boston, United States, to present the city’s tourism strategy, which is based on a model “rooted in coexistence, respect, quality and excellence.”

In a statement released on Monday, the council explained that the manager of the Fundació Turisme Palma 365, Pedro Homar, participated in the event alongside the director of the Spanish Tourist Office in New York, Magí Castellfort; the marketing director of the Lanzarote tourism office, Paula Muñoz; the expansion director of the Majorcan group Garden Hotel, Miquel Ramis; and representatives from the tourism sector in Boston.

During his presentation, Homar outlined the tourism strategy Palma has developed in recent years and highlighted the recent award received from Lonely Planet for ‘Best in Travel 2025’. In this regard, the manager of Fundació Turisme Palma 365 noted that this recognition places the Balearic capital “among the top city break destinations.”

Homar also emphasised that Palma is committed to “a tourism model based on coexistence, respect, quality and excellence, promoting balanced relationships between residents and visitors, in which the city’s natural and environmental heritage, alongside culture and innovation, are established as defining features of Palma’s character and identity.”

Taking advantage of his participation in Spain Talks USA, Pedro Homar travelled to New York to hold meetings with ten prestigious US media outlets, including Daily Mail, Elle, Travel + Leisure, Fodor’s Travel, Insider Travel Report and JustLuxe.

The manager highlighted the city’s broad and varied heritage, urban and gastronomic offerings available throughout the year, as well as its commitment to culture, exemplified by its bid to become European Capital of Culture 2031.
