Mallorca filmed Love Island and Geordie Shore star Sam Gowland has been hospitalised in Bali after suffering a venomous snake bite whilst dismounting his motorbike. The 30-year-old reality television personality required immediate medical attention at Bali Med Hospital.

The incident occurred on day two of Gowland's Balinese holiday when the snake struck his ankle, leading to concerning swelling. He shared the ordeal with his social media followers, posting: "Just my luck, day two in Bali and I've stepped on a snake – it bit my ankle as I got off my motorbike. Ankles swollen – anyone know if it's poisonous or if I should go to hospital?"

Medical professionals at Bali Med Hospital confirmed the snake was highly venomous, leading to anti-venom treatment. Gowland later updated his followers from hospital, stating: "Well, here we go then, bloody hell. Apparently it's highly venomous and has to have anti-venom."

Gowland first gained public attention during his appearance on Love Island's third series in 2017. His television career continued with MTV's Geordie Shore in 2018, where he became a regular cast member and gained further recognition through his relationship with co-star Chloe Ferry.

Love Island, the hit reality dating show, is filmed each summer on the sun-soaked island of Mallorca. The show’s iconic villa, located in a luxurious and secluded part of the island, provides the perfect backdrop for the contestants’ romantic escapades.
