Two Spanish men, ages 27 and 38, died following a head-on collision in the early hours of Sunday.
The accident occurred shortly after 1am on the Porto Cristo-Manacor MA-4020 road at kilometre 9. Two vehicles, a Volkswagen and a BMW, collided head-on; the BMW is believed to have caused the accident. One of the cars burst into flames.
The two deceased were in the passenger seat and back seat of one of the cars involved. The Guardia Civil, in charge of the investigation, believe that one of the cars (the BMW) crossed into the opposite lane.
Two other people are now reported to have serious injuries, while a further two have minor injuries.
