The battle against illegal street hawkers in Palma continues. As part of the SETUR 2025 operation, on the morning of Thursday 4 September, Palma Local Police carried out a large-scale operation against unauthorised street vending in the areas of s’Hort del Rei, Dalt Murada and Plaza de la Reina - in the area around the Cathedral. The operation resulted in the seizure of three containers of merchandise, the filing of two reports and a criminal report.

A total of 37 officers from various specialised units participated in the operation, including the Community Proximity Team (ECOP), the Road Safety Division (DSV), the Citizen Safety Division (DSC), the Green Patrol, the Complaints Investigation and Monitoring Group (GISD) and the Drone Unit (UDROP), which provided aerial support.

During the operation, several street vendors, upon noticing the police presence, abandoned the goods on display. A volume of merchandise, mainly sports shirts, bags and accessories of alleged imitation, was seized, filling three containers. In one of the cases, a judicial report was also filed for an alleged offence against industrial property.

In a statement, Palma Local Police said that this latest operation reaffirms its commitment to combating illegal street vending and defending local trade, in line with the provisions of the Ordinance for the Promotion of Civic Coexistence.
