The body of a man, believed to have been a migrant, was found six miles off Cala Figuera (Santanyi) on Wednesday afternoon.
Guardia Civil divers recovered the body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition, and took it to the port in Palma.
The Maritime Safety Agency has been searching for fifteen people who were on two small boats - twelve from a boat that capsized near Cabrera and three who attempted to swim to shore after their boat capsized off Santanyi.
The Institute of Forensic Medicine will carry out an autopsy.
