A 50-year-old man has been seriously injured after falling on Sunday night on Gran Via Puig de Massanella, in Santa Ponsa, in the Mallorcan municipality of Calvia.
The incident occurred just before midnight, when an off-duty Civil Guard officer happened to come across the injured man, according to the emergency service 061. As a result of the fall, the man sustained severe multiple injuries.
He was attended to and stabilised by medical staff from a mobile intensive care ambulance and transferred to Son Espases Hospital in Palma in a serious but as yet undetermined condition. The hospital was alerted in advance of his arrival through the activation of the urgent trauma code.
