The Guardia Civil report an incident that occurred in Magalluf on August 13 when a 25-year-old Irish tourist was attacked with a broken bottle. He was taken to Son Espases Hospital in a serious condition, having lost a lot of blood.
Around 5am, there was an altercation involving several people inside a bar. This continued in the street. The 25-year-old tried to calm the situation down, a friend of his and one other person having been at the centre of the argument.
When a bottle was grabbed, the group of Irish tourists started to run away, but the 25-year-old was slashed in the face and on the body.
Several witnesses called the emergency services. The Guardia Civil have since examined security camera images in an attempt to identify the attacker, who along with others had fled the scene before the emergency services arrived.
