Gridlock on the road to Soller. A cloudy summer Monday is synonymous with tourists and visitors fleeing the beach areas in search of new destinations and places to visit during their holidays in Mallorca. And one of the hot spots on the road network has once again been Soller.
In fact, the access roads to the capital of the area have once again been the scene of long queues and traffic jams as a result of the large number of vehicles trying to enter the town centre or continue on to the port.
Long queues could be seen in the direction of Soller, reflecting the reality of a problem that remains evident, especially on days like these, leading the authorities to take measures such as closing the access through the tunnel in the direction of Soller to avoid further congestion, or installing information screens such as the one located at the Palmanyola roundabout.
The most striking images were once again of the descent between the northern exit of the Soller tunnel and the main access road to the town, where traffic was backed up for kilometres, causing frustration and anxiety among drivers, especially those who use this route for work. And it was not much better in Palma with people flocking to the city centre to shop and visit the capital.
