A man in his seventies, using a walking frame, has been arrested at Palma Airport after allegedly targeting a tourist for theft. The septuagenarian reportedly followed a woman who had just arrived in Mallorca on holiday last June and stole belongings worth over 2,000€ while she was collecting a hire car.
The National Police launched an investigation after the victim reported the incident, which occurred on the day she landed on the island. On Monday morning, officers, aided by private security staff at the airport, located the suspect.
According to police, the man used his walking frame to move around the terminal, seeking newly arrived tourists to rob. He allegedly concealed the stolen items on the frame’s seat before swiftly leaving the scene. The suspect, accused of theft, is said to have an extensive criminal record.

Six were arrested for attempting to cross the border with forged documents (four Albanians, one Algerian and one Iraqi), four for outstanding court warrants, two for theft, and one for assault.
