A Palma court has issued an arrest warrant for a British tourist who intentionally ran over two people in Magaluf at the end of March 2023.
Several unsuccessful attempts have been made to locate him. Court proceedings have been suspended until he is located. He is accused of up to four crimes, and the Prosecutor's Office is seeking sentences of more than four years.
Shortly before 4.15am on March 30, 2023, his girlfriend got into an argument with another woman outside a bar on C. Cala Blanca. They attacked each other and were pulled apart by their respective partners.
The matter didn't end there. The wanted man left the scene, threatening those present. He soon returned in a hire car that had been parked nearby.
He attempted to run over anyone who stepped off the pavement and then drove onto the pavement. He ended up running over two men outside a fast-food restaurant. Both were left lying on the ground, and the driver fled the scene.
Despite the impact, neither of the men suffered serious injuries. Calvia Police arrested the tourist, who tested positive for drink and drugs. A court subsequently released him subject to a later appearance, one that he has so far avoided on a number of occasions.
