All TIB workers' assemblies have fully supported the agreement between the bus service employers and the SATI union that was signed in principle on Thursday.

There were two assemblies in Palma, one in Mahon and another in Ibiza. These all gave the green light to an agreement which meets most of the union's demands, especially those to do with pay and more flexible working hours.

Bus services had in fact more or less returned to normal ahead of the assemblies that were held on Friday morning.

Andrés Rodríguez, the union's general secretary, highlighted the unconditional support the workers had given the union throughout the negotiation process. Juan Rodríguez, also of SATI, said the key had been "the change in attitude" of the Balearic Transport Federation which has been representing the bus operators.

President Marga Prohens thanked the federation and the union for their efforts in reaching an agreement to improve workers' conditions and end the strike.

The final document has yet to be signed. This will be next week; it should be a formality.
