Balearics tourism goes up again, but both Germany and the UK fell in June

Having registered a very small decrease in May (-0.16%), foreign tourist numbers in the Balearics once more showed an increase in June.

The latest tourist figures from the National Statistics Institute indicate that there was a three per cent increase by comparison with June 2024. The total number of tourists was 2,262,589, the highest among all of Spain's regions. The Catalonia figure was just under two million.

The percentage rise in the Balearics was above the increase for Spain as a whole - 1.9% to 9,476,248.

Taking Spanish tourism into account - it fell by under one per cent - the total increase was 2.4% to 2,700,006. The two main foreign markets - Germany and the UK - were both down; by four per cent and 6.6% respectively. There were 616,514 German tourists and 601,749 from the UK. The big rises were for France, Italy and the Nordic countries.

In Mallorca there was an overall increase of 1.9% to 1,822,566 tourists. German and UK tourism both fell, Germany by 3.4% to 563,785 and UK by 5.2% to 371,697.
