First it was North America with direct flights from New York to Palma with United Airlines, now the Canadian market is opening up to the Balearics and Spain. Last week, Air Transat, once again named the World’s Best Leisure Airline at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, is proud to have operated on Friday its first ever flight connecting YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport to Valencia International Airport.

This exclusive non-stop route, the only one from North America, will operate nearly year-round, allowing Canadian travellers to enjoy Spain in both summer and winter. It complements Air Transat’s existing service to three other Spanish cities: Barcelona, Madrid, and Malaga. “The Montreal-Valencia non-stop flight further strengthening our leadership not only in Spain, but the transatlantic network,” stated Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat.

“Furthermore, this destination choice perfectly aligns our strategy to diversify revenue and reduce seasonality of our operations. It’s a testament to our expertise, and we couldn’t be prouder to see the Air Transat star soaring towards Valencia.” For added convenience, this non-stop route is complemented by à la carte hotels, as well as packages and tours, designed to suit every type of traveler.

“ADM Montréal-Trudeau is thrilled to welcome this flight to Valencia, operated by our partner Air Transat,” said Karl Brochu, Vice President, Operations and Air Service Development at ADM. “This new route will allow all travelers seeking memorable experiences to explore a destination known for its history and culture. Being the first North American airport to offer non-stop service to this attractive Mediterranean city fills us with immense pride. We extend our gratitude to the entire Air Transat team for their relentless efforts in making this a reality.”

Isabel Martin, Consul for Tourism Affairs at the Embassy of Spain in Canada, added: “We are confident that this exclusive new service will significantly bolster Spain’s presence in the Canadian market by substantially increasing air connectivity. It now provides Canadian travel enthusiasts with unprecedented access to Valencia, a vibrant city known for its consistent sunshine, exceptional gastronomy, and its prestigious designation as European Green Capital 2024. This direct route signifies not only a fantastic tourism opportunity but also strengthens the commercial and cultural bonds between Canada and Spain.”

Air Transat will operate the new route with the Airbus A321LR, an aircraft renowned for its efficiency. Featuring ergonomic cabins and an advanced inflight entertainment system, the A321LR offers passengers a comfortable and pleasant flight experience. It is also equipped with Club Class seats, so passengers can enjoy a premium experience as they travel to their destination.
