A 39-year-old British woman who went missing off Formentera while sailing a rented boat has now been found. According to sources close to the investigation, the woman was spotted by a ferry operating between Ibiza and Valencia at around 5pm on Saturday, and was subsequently rescued.

The vessel she was aboard was towed to Ibiza by Maritime Rescue services. The woman, who had been missing for several days, was later transferred to a hospital in Valencia. Sources indicate there is currently no evidence to suggest any criminal activity.

It is understood that the woman had hired the boat to go sailing on Tuesday morning, after which all contact was lost. Her friends raised the alarm when she failed to return the vessel by 6pm on Wednesday, as scheduled.

Since then, members of the Guardia Civil’s Special Group for Underwater Activities (GEAS) and the Maritime Service had been conducting search operations, focusing particularly on the waters around Formentera.
