A woman has been rushed to the hospital following a head-on collision with an off-road vehicle in Sa Pobla this morning. The incident occurred on the ring road linking Búger and Inca. The driver of a Citroen Picasso collided with the off-road vehicle under circumstances still under investigation.
Emergency response teams, including Guardia Civil traffic police, local police, firefighters, ambulance services, and road workers, swiftly arrived at the scene. Firefighters spent over an hour extricating the trapped driver from the Citroen Picasso, which was loaded with produce. The driver was then taken to hospital for treatment.
Over 30 emergency personnel were involved. The driver of the off-road vehicle escaped unharmed but was examined as a precaution. Meanwhile, the injured driver required sedation for a severely affected limb and is scheduled for surgery soon. Medical professionals have described her condition as serious.
The accident's causes are under investigation, with factors such as possible distraction and wet road conditions due to rain being considered.
