The Palmanyola Pump Track, which caused a good deal of controversy some months ago, is now open.

Deficiencies with the track needed to be rectified, the original having drawn considerable criticism. Typical of reactions to it was this: "One of the worst pump tracks I've seen in Spain. It has been built without a clue of what needs to be done."

The track is the responsibility of the Palmanyola Minor Local Entity - like a council within a council, Bunyola in this case. It was faced with faults with the track and with overcoming a legal process.

Arnau Llinàs, the mayor, explains that there is now certification from a specialist company in Barcelona. This establishes that the track now complies with regulations. It can be enjoyed "safely", Llinàs adding that he is "pleasantly surprised by the number of children in the afternoons and on weekends who are having a good time".
