Most people would be happy having one superyacht as a nautical toy but one of the richest men in the world, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has two and both were in the Bay of Palma over the weekend. His sailing yacht, Koru, is the biggest in the world and 127 metres long. Last weekend it was joined by Abeona which acts as a support ship for the Koru, but is still classed as a superyacht.
Up to 18 guests can be accommodated on board Koru, and she also has accommodation for 36 crew members, including the ship's captain. Koru has a steel hull. She is powered by 2 MTU engines.
Abeona can accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 staterooms, with 37 crew members. Until recently she was moored in the Club de Mar in Palma over the weekend she was in the Bay of Palma with her newer "sister-ship."
Bezos is the founder, executive chairman, and former president and CEO of Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce and cloud computing company. With a net worth of US$125 billion as of April 2023, Bezos is the third-wealthiest person in the world and was the wealthiest from 2017 to 2021, according to both the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Forbes.
