Coronation of King Charles set for May

The coronation of King Charles III will be held on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace has announced. Camilla, the Queen Consort, will be alongside the King and will also be crowned in the historic ceremony.

Buckingham Palace has indicated that the ceremony will combine the ancient and modern. It will be "rooted in longstanding traditions" but will also "reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future".

The Archbishop of Canterbury will preside over the anointing, blessing and consecration of King Charles.
