Mallorca and Minorca are on alert for extreme temperatures today - maximum temperatures could reach as high as 38ºC in some parts of the islands after a very hot and sticky weekend.
The Aemet met. office has also warned of “calima” in the Balearics with dust from the Sahara in the atmosphere.
On Tuesday, there is a yellow alert but only for the southern coastal area.
