The Balearic health ministry's Thursday report indicates 71 new positive cases of coronavirus - Mallorca 53, Minorca 13, Ibiza four, Formentera one. There were 93 cases on Wednesday - 65 in Mallorca, 18 in Minorca, eight in Ibiza and two in Formentera. The Thursday test rate is 2.44%, down from 2.99% on Wednesday.
The 14-day cumulative incidence in the Balearics has risen from 91.0 on Wednesday to 93.0. In Mallorca this is up from 87.5 to 89.0; Minorca up from 97.2 to 117.1; Ibiza down from 112.6 to 106.0; Formentera up from 33,6 to 42.0. The seven-day cumulative incidence in the Balearics is up from 47.20 to 47.46.
On hospital wards, the total number of Covid patients in the Balearics is down a further five to 31 - Mallorca 20 (down four), Ibiza eleven (no change) and Minorca zero (down one). In intensive care units, however, the ICU Covid occupancy rate is up from 5.5% to 6.16%. There are 21 patients in all, 19 in Mallorca (one more) and two in Ibiza (also one more).
Primary care in the Balearics is monitoring 1,153 people, an increase of 46 from Wednesday. In Mallorca the number is 823, an increase of 26.
Since the start of the pandemic there have been 101,401 cases of coronavirus and 1,006 deaths. The ministry reports no new deaths.
As to vaccination, 83.87% of the target population in the Balearics have received at least one dose. This equates to 867,924 people, 961 more than on Wednesday. 82.18% have had the full course - 850,447 people, 1,485 more.
