The over 80s, the most at risk group in the Balearics, will have to wait to be vaccinated until next month despite a major vaccination plan for this age group already underway on the mainland.
The Balearics, which had wanted vaccination priority status because of the importance of the tourist industry, is effectively at the back of the queue and the wait could be long.
There are widespread concerns across the islands over the delay in the vaccination programme.
