The man accused of having stabbed his stepfather to death in Costa d’en Blanes in January 2018 and of having attempted to murder his mother told the Provincial Court in Palma yesterday that he had acted out of self-defence. He feared that his stepfather was going to attack him with a piece of wood.
Ukrainian B.K., who was 27 at the time of the incident, explained that he had stabbed his 46-year-old mother “unintentionally”.
“My mother is a good person,” he stated. He admitted to having stabbed his 61-year-old stepfather three or four times.
The prosecution highlighted a forensic report which indicated that there were 21 stab wounds. Asked how there came to be another seventeen, B.K. responded that “maybe” the Guardia Civil who went to the scene had “given them”.
The prosecution is calling for a 36-year sentence. The trial is scheduled to last three days.
