An eighteen-year-old Irish female tourist has been fined for "balconing" by Calvia police. She attempted to climb from one balcony to another at her accommodation in Magalluf, despite being warned of the danger. In the act of doing so, she fell from what was the first floor onto the interior courtyard and needed to be taken to Son Espases Hospital.
The Guardia Civil took charge of the case, and Calvia police have now notified her of the fine. The range of the penalty for balconing is from 601 to 1,500 euros. This is the fourth time that someone has been fined for balconing this year.
