The bus station in Inca is to become an intermodal station for the Raiguer region of Majorca. Under a new transport plan, Inca will act as the access point for public transport to the Tramuntana mountains.
The regional transport minister, Marc Pons, explains that 480,000 euros of tourist tax revenue will be invested in three projects: new bus stops at the entrance to Inca on the Sineu road; 120 parking places in that area; and the renovation of the Antoni Maura car park opposite the station. This car park has been closed since 2012 but will reopen with 300 parking places.
The remodelling of the bus station, which is a separate project, will be completed before January 2019, which is when the new contracts for bus services in Majorca will start. The bus station is right next to the train station but its usage has declined in recent years.
