TV cameraman beaten up by tourists in Magalluf

| Calvia |

A television crew was attacked by a group of British tourists in Magalluf yesterday morning. The crew was with an ambulance team from the 061 emergency service and was recording for a programme broadcast by Cuatro.

The incident occurred at around twenty minutes to six at the Martinique Hotel in Magalluf. The ambulance had gone there to attend to a young female. While the medical team was seeing to her, the reporter and cameraman, outside the room, were attacked. The cameraman was punched and kicked and suffered bruises and damage to an eye.

The ambulance crew activated the panic code, which led to more medics going to the scene as well as police. The group of tourists left the scene. Police were yesterday looking at security camera footage to help with identification and arrest.
