Since the new points’ system was introduced in Spain in 2006, a similar one to that which has been in place for years in the United Kingdom, a total of 2,352 drivers have lost all the points on their licences, according the Guardia Civil traffic department yesterday.

Of these 2,352 drivers, 2,283 have lost all their points on just the one occasion while 69 have lost their licences twice.
On the mainland, however, there are three drivers in three different municipalities who have been stripped of their licences on no less than three occasions and, as the Bulletin has been reporting, the highway patrol has stepped up controls on Balearic roads.
