And so, after all the fuss over the lack of beach services in Puerto Pollensa, the first sun loungers finally started appearing today (Friday), a truck with a crane going onto the beach and depositing whole loads of blue sun loungers. In addition, posts were being hammered into place for the accompanying parasols.
The Bulletin is led to believe that in the end there was only one organisation which tendered for the service, the one that previously had the concession. It had also been understood that the final decision on awarding the tender would not be taken until next week, but things would appear to have moved forward more swiftly. The town hall has been receiving an enormous amount of criticism because of the delay in provision of the services, with a great deal of negative publicity having appeared in both the established media, including the Bulletin, and social media.
