The departures area of Palma's Son Sant Joan airport was evacuated shortly before 3pm this afternoon when an apparently suspicious package was discovered.
The package turned out to be a false alarm and the closure of departures lasted only fifteen minutes. In fact the package was a suitcase which set off an alarm when it was being scanned. The passenger, whose case it was, was located and the case was checked.
