And so the saga continues. Tots per Pollença, the party formed by ex-mayor Tomeu Cifre Ochogovia, and two individuals have claimed that the tender specifications for beach services in Puerto Pollensa (and elsewhere) have "serious deficiencies". These means that the awarding of the tender is currently suspended. The period for submission is due to end on Monday, and the award - it had been suggested - may have been made as early as the end of next week.
Tots per Pollença have, via their Facebook page, highlighted the fact that the request for new authorisation for the beach services was posted on the Official Bulletin in February but that, as yet, there has been no confirmation of this authorisation from the Costas Authority: there needs to be because of the changes that have been made to the specification.
Cifre has pointed to the "uselessness" of the town hall administration in this regard, and Tots have received some support from the Alternativa per Pollença, who have also flagged up the suspension of the tender on their Facebook page. If, as Cifre suggests, the specifications are not applicable, then the tendering itself is affected as well as there being potential delay to the award being made. The Alternativa are noting that the administration hopes to resolve issues raised on Monday. They conclude by saying: "We'll see."
The town hall issued an official statement on Friday which announced the suspension of the tender.
