Two ships in the Costa Cruises' fleet - the Costa Diadema and Costa Fascinosa - make weekly stopovers in Palma throughout the year. Yesterday, they were both in port, as was a third Costa cruise ship, the Mágica. The coinciding of the three ships, with their differing itineraries around the western Mediterranean, shows the commitment that the operator had to Palma and the Balearic market. And together they brought in more than 10,000 passengers.
At a press conference the company made a presentation of its campaign - Welcome to Happiness Squared - one designed to improve and strengthen its onboard and onshore offers and so double the "happiness" of its clients.
As part of this, there is the gala menu created by Italian chef Bruno Barbieri, entertainment from Peppa Pig for small children and the talent show "The Voice of the Sea", aimed at all the family. Commercial representatives also highlighted various cruising options that the company offers, such as a cruise of northern Europe along the coast of Norway with its fjords and the main cities in the Baltic Sea or itineraries in the Adriatic and Aegean. They also drew attention, for Spanish travellers, to air connections to main ports from Madrid and Barcelona.
As for the Balearics, the company statement says: " Costa has maintained and continues to maintain its commitment to the Balearics, to which more than 460,000 passengers came this year. There will be similar numbers this year, which represent an economic benefit in the region of more than 20 million euros.
