The Mallorca Live Festival at Palma's Son Fusteret events ground at the end of April has now confirmed 50% of the line-up of acts from Majorca, Spain and overseas, with the Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey from the London trip hop, electronica band Morcheeba among them.
To be held on 29 and 30 April, the festival spotlights acts from various genres - indie, rock, world music, reggae, electronica and hip hop. There will be sixteen hours of music over the two days, but the festival is more than just about the music. It is a multi-disciplinary event that is the product of the coming together of local producers and artists as well as sponsors and public and private sector. It has become one of the most anticipated events in the Majorcan calendar in recent years and this year's event will feature fifteen food trucks, visual arts and a design market.
In addition to Morcheeba, artists so far confirmed include Spain's DeLorean, Bebe and Fyahbwoy as well as Majorcan groups such as La Vereda, Satellites and Dinamo.
Special launch tickets for the two days (available until 29 February or until these tickets are all sold) cost 15 euros and can be obtained, for example, via www.mallorcalivefestival.com.
