Officers from Seprona, the Guardia Civil's nature protection division, are investigating the cause of a fire that resulted in the burning of 36 hectares of grass and reed in the Albufera nature park in Muro / Sa Pobla.
The fire is said to have broken out around a quarter to three this morning. It was attended by fire crews from Can Picafort and Inca as well by firefighters from the Balearic Nature Institute. A water-bombing helicopter was used from first light around half seven. The fire was under control by 9.30 and was totally extinguished by 11am.
