The Palma 365 Foundation is taking advantage of the exhibition dedicated to Joan Miró being staged in London by the Barcelona Mayoral Galería de Arte by promoting Palma as an all-year cultural destination.

The director of Palma 365, Pedro Homar, and Palma's tourism councillor, Joana Maria Adrover, have made a presentation to more than thirty UK media outlets about what the city has to offer in terms of its culture. The foundation, as Adrover noted, focuses its attention on promoting Palma as a 365-days-a-year city-break and cultural destination. To this end, 30% of its activities are dedicated to cultural promotion, for which there are eight products as part of its promotional action plan. (These products have already been given heavy exposure at the Pangea travel megastore in Madrid.)

Adrover stressed that a town hall priority is cultural development, and in this respect Miró plays an important part. Pedro Homar said: "Joan Miró left the city a huge artistic legacy. His workshops, testimony to his creative endeavours and nowadays a significant component of the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, are essential attractions for visitors to the city."

Homar also emphasised Palma's long history of offering visitors culture, heritage, cuisine and scenery, all of which combine in making the city a leader as a holiday destination. He pointed to, for example, Bellver Castle, the Casal Solleric, the artistic and creative centre in Ses Voltes and to the soon to be reopened Casal Balaguer.
