Our most recent online poll asked you if you were in favour of the official name of Palma being changed from Palma de Mallorca to simply Palma. Well, three-quarters of you disagreed with the plan by Palma town hall to have the Balearic parliament approve this change: the exact percentage was 75.8%.
Meanwhile, there has been a suggestion from the ERC party (Esquerra Republicana Catalunya - Republican Left Catalonia) that the city be named "Ciutat" (city). It says that this was how Palma was known before the Bourbons (in 1715) marched in and named it Palma.
Many thanks, as ever, to those of the over 400 of you who registered your vote.
