The day of Sant Antoni is more subdued than Sant Antoni Eve, but there are still some demons around and even the odd fire-run. But the day is most noted for the blessings of animals - Sant Antoni is the patron of the protection of animals - and these occur all over the island. Some of these blessings are grander events than others, with floats and other attractions, but they are greatly anticipated by pet owners, farmers and others.
In Pollensa (and Puerto Pollensa), there are the pine climbs of Sant Antoni that are unique to the town at Sant Antoni. The tradition has been copied elsewhere, but it originated in Pollensa town, where there will be crowds packing into the Plaça Vella (old square) to see who can be the first to climb the soaped-up time and bag the trophy of the cock in a bag at the top of the pine. (The cock, by the way, now goes on to live a long life on a local finca, which might not have been the case in the past.)
